If you’re a dedicated Celeb Secrets reader, first of all, THANK YOU. But second of all, prepare yourself for the latest installment of my completely shameless (but undeniably accurate) Lauv fangirling. You may have read my previous pieces on the singer-songwriter’s incredible releases, like “Easy Love” and “I Like Me Better.” As a lyricist, Lauv’s words just cut through your soul, not stopping until they strike a very specific chord with you.
The thing is, Lauv just keeps outdoing himself. So here we are.
The singer’s latest track and accompanying music video is called “Paris in the Rain.” Now, I don’t personally fantasize about traipsing through any big city during the slightest of inclement weather. Of course, this song isn’t about the kind of rain where you’re running through dirty water puddles while you’re late for work. No, it’s the romantic feeling Old Hollywood’s interpretation of Paris has given us.
“I’m so excited to finally share this song with the world. Ever since I visited Paris for the first time, I wanted to make a song about it,” Lauv shared in a statement about the track. “The inspiration actually came after watching the movie ‘Midnight in Paris.’ To me, the only thing more romantic than the idea of walking through Paris in the rain, (at night, in the 1920s of course), is being with someone who makes you feel like that no matter where you are.â€
The message behind this song is that no matter where in the world you may be, when you’re next to the right person it may as well be the most glamorous Parisian cityscape. How beautiful is that?
“Paris in the Rain” is Lauv’s latest addition to an ongoing Spotify playlist he has created called “I met you when I was 18.” He plans to keep evolving through new song additions, though I’m not a hundred percent certain that my heart can handle that kind of goodness.

After listening to this song, I’m sure you’re thinking you won’t be able to get through 2018 without hearing Lauv perform live. Luckily, you may not have to, because he’s traveling all over the place. Straight off his latest tour stops in Asia and the Pacific Islands, Lauv announced his very first world tour with special guests Jeremy Zucker and Ashe.
